The Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor is an American single-seat, twin-engine, all-weather stealth tactical competitor airplane developed for the Unified Specifies Air Force (USAF). The outcome of the USAF’s Advanced Tactical Competitor (ATF) program, the airplane was designed as an air supremacy competitor, but also has ground attack, digital war, and indicates knowledge abilities. The prime professional, Lockheed Martin, built most of the F-22’s airframe and tools systems and conducted last setting up, while Boeing provided the wings, aft body, avionics integration, and educating systems.
The airplane was variously assigned F-22 and F/A-22 before it officially entered solution in December 2005 as the F-22A. Despite its protracted development and functional problems, USAF thinks about the F-22 a crucial element of its tactical airpower. The fighter’s mix of stealth, wind resistant efficiency, and objective systems enable unmatched air combat abilities.[2][3]
The USAF had initially planned to buy a total of 750 ATFs. In 2009, the program was cut to 187 functional airplane because of high costs, an absence of clear air-to-air objectives throughout manufacturing, a ban on exports, and development of the more flexible F-35,[N 1] with the last F-22 delivered in 2012.
